Been texting and chatting to Jenni - she's still chirpy and quite batty - nothing different there then!
She was hoping to see Dr Edwards (her rheummy) today and then the endocrinologist at some stage and presumably they will then "release" her. Not sure whether you know, but they tried to chuck her out at 10.30pm on Monday night as they "needed her bed"! Can you believe it? Thankfully, she stuck to her guns and refused to move. How awful is this? Apparently the ward sister was furious when she found out what had happened. I'll pass on your love next time I speak to her. Lots of love Jeanxxxxx

Good for her for sticking to her guns- nothing surprises me with hospitals these days- my mum was recently sent home to an empty house- and she's nearly 80 and not in good health.
Thanks for keeping us updated.

Just hope that they have presented her with a plan of action to help relieve her pain and treat all of her illnesses . Poor lass needs help and to think that they wanted to chuck her out at 10.30pm says it all about the help she was going to get from those members of staff.
Give her my love please Jean.

Dear Jean, just caught up with your thread on Jenni, I am thinking of her and really do hope that after this stay in Hospital and all the tests that they will find a way to improve things for her at last! Jenni has so much to cope with and deserves the best medical care available so that she can enjoy life with her husband and children without so much pain. Best wishes to you and Jenni, Fiona

Don't worry - she won't go until she knows all the tests have been done. She may be a very poorly girl, but she's a very sensible and intelligent one too!

That's terrible that they were trying to chuck her out, I can't believe what's happened to the caring compassionte NHS. I hope she doesn't go until she gets some answers.
Love Lyn

hello all
I am home and very glad to be here.
had another run in with a bed manager this afternoon. This morning was not feeling so bright and temp up but once the bed manager turned up I was suddenly fine to go to the discharge lounge.
Again she came to rattle my bed and tell me that there was a queue for beds, ambulances waiting, people making 999 and people not coming. I explained that having been on the receiving end of no beds many a time I did understand. I wondered if she has any idea how it felt to be bullied for the 3rd time in as many days about their own bed provision when there are no facilities for the chronically sick.
I then asked her if she felt this kind of emotional blackmail was alright to deliver to a patient with a severe, chronic and debilitating condition and that I had not realised that bed nicking was part of the NH services offered.
If she would like me to go, perhaps hurrying up the medication ordered the day before might be a way of doing it.
She was not impressed muttering something about a senior manager might yet visit me at which point I explained I know that I have a right to this bed and the treatment it represents. She harrumphed off. Funnily enough no one from snr management bothered me.
I need to do something about this.
It is in no way acceptable.
but for now I am home with the family that I love.
We do need some battle plans though!
Love to all esp those on the facebook and the lovely Jean.
Jenni xxIt was not acceptable when they did this to older people a few yrs ago, and it isnt acceptable for younger ones either. how to be a velvet bulldoser

Welcome home Jenni. I am open mouthed at the rudeness you encountered. Well done you for standing up for yourself but it is scary to think how many others don't and what it means for them. Jo x

It's really great to hear that you are home Jenni, hope you are able to rest and glad you are with your lovely family xxxxx
BUT GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - What terrible treatment again, This HAS to be reported, i'm ready to do a march, sign a petition, make some placards, write to Gordon Brown, climb Kilimanjaro (...no, better not that one - not really, i think that one's slightly beyond me...) hmmmm...... i think they've finished the fourth plinth exhibition otherwise we could have sent Jean there to do a pole demonstration.....
but This is in NO way acceptable, especially with raised temp and poorly... last thing you need is attitude like this! When you feel up to it, i hope you are able to raise this with PALS / complaints procedure and maybe local MP will support you looking into this as you have so much to deal with...
but Just for now, concentrate on YOU xxxxx Lots of love and hugs ~ Liz xxxxx
